2019-2020 Men's Basketball Uniforms
Mississippi State's primary Men's Basketball uniforms underwent a slight redesign prior to the 2019-2020 season. The basic format is the same, with the "Mississippi State" banner wordmark on the chest, M-State logo on the shorts, and state outline on the back. Gone, however, are the ribbon stripes on the shorts; they're replaced with a thick contrasting stripe on the bottom of the shorts. On the jerseys, the collar has been changed from a v-neck to a more traditional round collar. The piping around the collar and shoulder areas is now single-color and thicker. Finally, the player numbers on the back seem to be a size smaller.
These changes were applied to the White, Maroon, and Black uniforms. Additionally, the gray and cream uniforms from last season have been retained with no changes.
State wore a good mix of the uniforms early in the season; after the Oklahoma game on January 25th, white and maroon had been worn 5 times each, black and gray had been worn 4 times each, and cream had been worn once. After that date, the Bulldogs kept it more simple, wearing only white, maroon, or black in their final 12 regular season games.
The black uniforms were once worn in 4 straight and 6 out of 8 conference games; they started out with a 6-0 record on the season, but after two losses (at Kentucky and at Ole Miss), they were not worn again in the regular season. In the final 7 games of the regular season, the Bulldogs wore only maroon and white uniforms.
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Men's SEC Tournament was canceled, along with any postseason tournaments to which the Bulldogs may have been invited.

2019-2020 Women's Basketball Uniforms
Mississippi State's Women's Basketball uniforms were also redesigned for the 2019-2020 season, with the piping on the collar, shoulders, and shorts being removed in favor of a large double stripe down the right side of the uniform.
The Bulldogs primarily wore their maroon and white uniforms, but debuted brand new black uniforms (with the same side-stripe design) and brand new pink uniforms. The white STATE jerseys from the past three seasons returned, and were paired with the new double-striped shorts.
State lost three games each in their white and maroon uniforms, but were undefeated in the six games in which alternates were worn.

SEC Tournament:
As has become tradition, the Bulldogs wore the white STATE jerseys in their first two SEC Tournament games, both of which were wins. The Bulldogs have now wore the STATE jerseys in three consecutive SEC Tournaments, to a 6-1 record. As the Bulldogs were the 2 seed this year, they were the "away" team in the Championship Game against South Carolina. As a result, in their fifth consecutive championship game appearance, the Bulldogs wore their primary maroon uniforms. Interestingly, State has worn a different jersey color in all five of its consecutive championship game appearances: Black in 2016, Gray in 2017, White in 2018, Cream in 2019, and Maroon in 2020. This was actually the first SEC Tournament game in which Mississippi State had worn maroon under Vic Schaefer; they had last done so in 2012. Unfortunately, the Women's SEC Tournament was the last time that the Bulldogs got to see the court in the 2019-2020 season, as the NCAA Tournament was canceled due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
