You may have seen the following picture today as it made it's way around the internet. It is a pink uniform for Mississippi State. What's worse? The digital camo pants that resemble the zubaz that Adidas previously featured in their College Basketball Tournament uniforms earlier this year.
The good news is that it doesn't appear to be hot pink, but the lighting could be distorting the color. The best news, however, is that MSU athletic director confirmed they are only a concept, and they probably won't ever see the field: "The pink football jersey … here’s the deal: Adidas is very creative. Many ideas are only concepts, like that one for breast cancer awareness."
Still, if Adidas thinks this is acceptable for a football uniform, I can't wait for our contract with them to end. They did a good job for our new uniforms last year (though they gave Texas A&M the same uniform with a few differences.), but the Astrodog baseball uniforms they gave us for the CWS were horrible. Thankfully, we got out of wearing those by only wearing them in pregame, but we shouldn't even have to wear them then. I suppose it's good that Adidas considers us one of their top schools, but they need to get some better taste in design.
