For the fourth consecutive year, the Bulldogs will wear special gold-accented uniforms for the Egg Bowl. This year's uniform includes a maroon helmet with a chrome gold helmet, a white jersey with gold numbers, and the pants that go with the DWS 100 unis.
In the top-5 match-up in Tuscaloosa, the #1 Bulldogs will wear the matte helmet with the white jersey and white pants. Should be a top-5 uni match-up also.
The Bulldogs are taking a break from the DWS 100 unis for homecoming, going all-maroon with the regular maroon jerseys and pants. The DWS 100 helmets (with the white facemask) will be worn, however, making this a never-before seen combination. In fact, this will be the first time these jerseys have been worn with a white facemask.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Bulldogs will be wearing special gold-numbered uniforms in the Egg Bowl vs Ole Miss. The Helmet for this year is chrome maroon with a chrome gold facemask. The jersey has no stripes or shoulder numbers; only gold numbers (with a state of Mississippi pattern inside them) and a large "Mississippi State" wordmark appear on the front of the jersey. The DWS 100 pants with the oversized M-STATE logo on them complete the combination.
I'm not a huge fan. This year's goals for MSU reach beyond the Egg Bowl, which was the highlight of the season three years ago when special Egg Bowl uniforms were first worn. These are certainly better than the away version from two years ago; the helmet, just as it was in last year's Egg Bowl unis, is the best part of the uniform. Gold DWS 100 stripes on the shoulder would vastly improve the look. |
