With the 2017 Baseball Season starting today, let's take a look at what to expect in terms of uniforms from the Bulldogs in the first year of the Andy Cannizaro Era. The big offseason uniform news was the return of the white pinstripes, this time with a 60's era "State" script on the front instead of the interlocking MS logo. The new pinstripes uniforms are simply beautiful, as are most of the 2017 Adidas Heritage Uniforms. They'll be a welcome addition to the Bulldogs' already stellar uniform lineup.
In addition to the new pinstripe uniforms, the Maroon 85 jerseys are back in the form of BP tops after a surprising absence in 2016. The 2017 version is a two-button pullover BP top with double stripes on the sleeves, the 85 wordmark on the front, and huge, transparent white (so effectively pink) numbers in the classic font on the back.
Almost certain to return from 2016 are the Maroon MS jerseys, the Gray Pinstripes, and the inverted White 85 pullovers, all solid looks. Likely to return from 2016 are the Black 85 pullovers and White MS jerseys. I do think those two have a chance of not returning; the White MS jerseys might not have a place in the weekend rotation with the new pinstripe jerseys. The Black 85s should return for some midweek games; the only reason I say they might not is because they're entering their third year, which is getting to be longer than most alternate jerseys stay in the rotation.
I kinda expect the digi camo jerseys to return, but I really hope they don't. Like the Black 85s, they'd be entering their third year, which frankly would be three years too many. The only other jersey from 2016 left is the Mossy Oak camo, which was only ever worn once. Doubt it makes an appearance in 2017, but you never know.
I definitely expect at least one new uniform to be unveiled at some point during the season (in addition to the new white pinstripes and maroon 85 jerseys). That's been the case for the past several seasons, and I see no reason to expect any different in 2017. The Bulldogs do play on St. Patrick's Day this season (at Arkansas); we might some green hats at the least.
If we're interested in bringing back any of ousuperb older uniforms, I have four major suggestions:
Maroon 85 Jerseys- thought they might be back this year, but turns out they're only BP tops. Definitely want to see these come back as game jerseys.
Gray Jerseys with Mississippi State sckript- Papelbon Era, worn again in 2015. Best gray jerseys we've ever worn, and they still fit in the rotation. Wear them on Saturdays on the road, then the gray pins on Sundays. Or vice versa.
Cream alternates- may not have a place in the rotation right now, but man these were nice.
White pinstripes with MS- the 2013 pins were simply classic. Probably don't need two white pins, but there's never a problem in having too many great uniforms.

An addition to the new pinstripe uniforms, the Bulldogs have new batting helmets for 2017. The new helmets are matte maroon with a rather cool 3D interlocking MS logo: (via @hailstateBB on Twitter)
The first game of the 2017 season is at 4:00 Friday vs 2016 CWS Participant Texas Tech. Looking forward to being at Dudy Noble with the biggest scoreboard in College Baseball to watch the start of the Andy Cannizaro Era!
