Bouncing back from a tough opening weekend of SEC play at Arkansas, the Bulldogs swept Tennessee wearing the same classic uniforms as they have been all year.
They fell to Southern Miss in a midweek game at Trustmark Park in Pearl wearing Maroon MS over white pinstripes, accounting for the first loss in the white pinstripe pants all season. The usual Maroon MS over white combo was worn in a Friday night win over Tennessee; the White "State" Pinstripes were worn in an offensive explosion on Saturday night. With the win, the Bulldogs are now 5-0 in the White "State" Pinstripes this season.
On Sunday, the Bulldogs got the sweep in the Inverted White 85s. This was the second time I had seen these uniforms worn in person, and readability is definitely a problem. State has looked really good all year, but these are easily the weak spot in the lineup. Un-invert them, however, and the White 85s are one the best uniforms in college baseball.
After two SEC Series, the Bulldogs have worn only 6 different uniform combinations in 2017, and they're all solid. All six are being worn consistently; they've all been worn within the last 7 games. Best uniform set in college baseball.
