In the second week of the 2017 baseball season, the Bulldogs scored 8 runs in every one of their 5 games but only managed to pull out 3 wins. In a midweek contest, the Bulldogs lost in the Maroon MS jerseys and white pants; they picked up a win in the same combo on Friday. The other two wins came wearing pinstripes pants in a Saturday doubleheader; the "State" script pinstripe jerseys were worn in game 1 of the DH, and the Maroon MS jerseys were worn in game 2.
In a loss on Sunday, the Bulldogs wore the inverted White 85 jerseys for the first time in 2017. While they would look better if the wordmark and numbers were un-inverted, I like these jerseys and am glad to see them return. That probably has a lot to do with the fact that they were worn in a governor's cup win, the game in which we won the SEC Championship, and a regional championship last season.
After two weeks, the Bulldogs are undefeated in both the new Pinstripe jerseys and pants. They are 3-0 in full pinstripes and 5-0 in the pinstripe pants. In games that the regular white pants were worn, the Bulldogs are 1-3. Correlation obviously does not mean causation, but it's an interesting trend.
