Baseball: Master Plan (2017 Concept)

My latest concept is something I'm calling the baseball uniform Master Plan.  The Master Plan includes 11 different jerseys that can be cycled in and out over the coming years.  I recognize that 11 different jerseys are far too many for a single season, but I think that all of these designs should be worn again at some point.  There's no need, however, to have three maroon jerseys or two white pinstripe jerseys, for example, in a single season.

The Master Plan is split into three sections:  Fundamentals, Diamond Classics, and Script Rotation.  

The Fundamentals all feature the MS logo on the chest and the custom "Starkville" block number font.  All of the Fundamentals have been worn within the last few seasons, and are some of the most recognizable looks for Mississippi State baseball.

The Diamond Classics all feature the classic 1985 font for the numbers and NOB.  The white and maroon diamond classics feature the 1985 wordmark as well, while the cream and anthracite diamond classics feature the MS logo on the chest.  Versions of the white, maroon, and cream Diamond Classics have been worn recently; the anthracite is an original idea,

The Script Rotation uniforms all feature a script font on the front with the "Starkville" number font.  They would rotate one of their above counterparts (White MS Pinstripes, Maroon MS or 85, and Gray Pinstripes) every few years.

Fundamentals 

White MS Jerseys
First worn in the late 1980s, the White MS jerseys were a staple of the Bulldogs' look in the Ron Polk years of the 1990s and then again in the early 2000s.  After an absence from 2005 to 2014, these were brought back in 2015 and worn again throughout the 2016 SEC Championship season.

Maroon MS Jerseys
Staple of the John Cohen Era.  Recently, they've been worn in every single Friday game since the beginning of the 2016 season.

White MS Pinstripes
Primary home uniforms in the Pat McMahon era.  Brought back in 2013 and worn several times in the Bulldogs' 2013 CWS run.  Last worn in 2014 in pure form, 2015 with a thick stripe down the side.

Gray MS Pinstripes
Worn in vest form in the Pat McMahon years, the Gray Pins were brought back in 2016 and were a staple during the Bulldogs' 2016 SEC Championship season.  Primary road uniforms again in 2017.

Diamond Classics

White 85 Pullovers
First worn in the mid 1980s; most associated with the 1985 CWS team.  Brought back in 2012-2014 in jersey form.  Back in pullover form in 2016, but with the wordmark and numbers inverted.

Maroon 85 Pullovers
First worn in the late 1970s; worn throughout the 1980s and also associated with the 1985 CWS team.  Brought back in jersey form around 2010, slightly adjusted in 2015, then dropped in 2016.  Used in a BP Top in 2017.

Cream MS Jerseys
Worn in 2014 and 2015, with a block number font and both maroon and cream hats.  Great look.

Anthracite MS Jerseys
Most concept-y uniform in the Master Plan.  Anthracite uniform with thin MS logo on the chest, 85 number font and white-maroon-white piping.  Bulldogs have worn anthracite once, in the 2014 SEC Tournament, but it was an awful Adidas template.  I think it would be cool to try something like this out; it would at least work much better for baseball than any black jersey has.

Script Rotation

White "State" Pinstripes
Primary uniforms in the 1960s and early 1970s, these were brought back in 2017.  Classic look; these can sub out with the White MS pinstripes every few years, as they are in 2017.

Maroon "Bulldogs" Jerseys
You might have noticed that every single one of these jerseys has either the MS logo, "Mississippi State", or just "State" on the front.  No mention of "Bulldogs."  Wearing these (1998-2004) again every few years would change that.

Gray "Mississippi State" Script Jerseys
Classic road look for the Bulldogs.  First worn in the late 1980s, these have rotated in and out of the Bulldogs' uniform lineup.  They last made an appearance in 2015.
